Offer No Quarter
Song info: this song is about the complete destruction of an enemy, and it is particularly inspired by the crusades launched by the Teutonic Order. It uses the same diminished scale as "Conquest of Bosporus", and they sound kinda similar at points. However, they were written independently of each other, and I at one point considered combining the two songs. However, because I'd already began planning ideas for the fourth Conjured album at the time of recording "Offer No Quarter", I decided against it.
Lyrics
Upon the hill, the order waits To descend and unleash their hate In the valley where the final stand Of servants of ancient gods did band A futile fight for the condemned few Once many, now their dead are strewn They sweat and weep as the horsemen ride Knowing that they can't turn the tide We'll surround them We will offer no quarter We'll destroy them We will offer no quarter With bodies of steel and swords of light The order slays for what they call right Blood stains the cross and paints it red The butchering leaves many dead Like wolves, the order encircles their prey And the two sides, to their gods they pray As wheels rumble on the hillside The cannon tells them they are gonna die We'll slaughter them We will offer no quarter We'll butcher them We will offer no quarter A roar of thunder shakes the earth Clouds of black smoke bring the order mirth Behind the screen of gunpowder smog Not one alive is in the slog Flesh, blood, and bone scatter the field But still this crusade will not yield To further lands, the order will go And where they go, the blood will flow We murdered them We have offered no quarter We'll destroy them We will offer no quarter |
