Blood in the Moonlight
Song info: this song was made up entirely in about ten minutes while practicing the blues scale. It's pretty heavily inspired Church of Misery's "Spahn Ranch". The lyrics are based on the old gothic vampire story "Carmilla", one of the first stories that describes what we could easily identify as a "modern vampire". Recording was easy due to the slow pace. The beginning and end sections of the song are only 60 BPM; the faster middle section is about 160 BPM or so. This song's minute long solo was done in a single take, probably the only solo in The Conjured's discography to have been done without re-recording it once.
Lyrics
A black velvet cloak slides on the floor Envelopes skin of white snow Scarlet lips and hair of a crow Her pale lover Embraced upon dark sheets of silk Seduced by eyes of crimson A kiss sends shivers through her skin And draws blood from her Blood in the moonlight Red stains her white skin Creature of the night Bleeding the virgin A gentle stroke of her inner thigh Locks the prey in passion Her loving touch is soft yet cold Freezing caress Gone before the sun arises To her underground lair Her pet awaits her return She bows to her Blood in the moonlight Red stains her white skin Creature of the night Bleeding the virgin |
